Kubernetes – Object Bucket

Kubernetes provides a way to dynamically provision both file and block storage but object has been slow to be adopted as storage that is consumed and used by applications in a cloud native ecosystem. Today, object is driving many key workloads across clusters and providing a means of having a control path to provision and manage objects centrally is necessary long term. Red Hat has been leading this effort since 2019 and continues to gain momentum to having object be a first class citizen in the Kubernetes API.
